How do I get Castings?
Captive Audience Casting Agency works with Industry Professionals to source casting opportunities that may be right for our students. We then work to match the relevant students to the best opportunities. We send the CVs and Photographs to the Casting Director working for the company who are offering the opportunity. If they think you could be right for the casting you will be invited to audition. Occasionally casting will be done from CV and photograph only.
How often will I work?
There is no exact answer to this unfortunately! It is important to know that the world of entertainment is a notoriously difficult one to break in to, but absolutely not impossible. If you attend regular drama workshops, keep your CV updated and ensure you are putting in enough work to grow your acting career, we promise we will be working just as hard for you. We receive casting breakdowns every day and will be matching students to opportunities wherever we have a match.
How much notice will I get?
We will aim to give you as much notice about a casting as possible. Sometimes there is very quick turn- around in entertainment and you may be asked to attend an audition the next day. You may also have to travel; most auditions are in London, Manchester or Birmingham at the moment. The decision as to whether you wish to attend an audition is completely down to you, there is never any pressure for you to undertake an audition but we will always offer you suitable ones and discuss the travel arrangements.
How much will I get paid?
If you have successfully secured a role via either audition or CV/Photograph casting – well done! You will then be paid a fee for your work in the role. The fee will vary from position to position as it is detailed by the production company. We take a commission from any fee you earn at 20% (15% for theatre work). The total fee and your ‘take home’ fee will be outlined to you from the start. We pay you into your bank account or via a cheque when the role is completed. Sometimes there are repeat fees, for example with advertising campaigns or films – where this is the case you will be informed of either a buyout fee or a repeat earning fee, again at the discretion of the production company concerned.
What about School?
Your education at School is extremely important and we do not want to disrupt your learning unless completely necessary for a role. If you successfully gain a role, you will be told in advance how much time you will miss from school. Time out may also be required for the initial audition. Wherever time off school is required we will need the permission of your School’s Head teacher and your Next of Kin to allow this. This forms part of your ‘License’ to perform. We will work to successfully obtain you a performance License for all roles you acquire.
What is the cost of joining Captive Audience Agency?
We offer two levels of representation at Captive Audience. Level 1 covers your professional Headshot photograph, CV creation and inclusion on our website. It also covers the management of your castings completely and ensures you will be considered for every casting breakdown we receive. Level 2 includes everything in Level 1 but also covers your inclusion on the Spotlight Website. Spotlight is the ‘Industry Home of Casting’. This allows your profile to be viewed on a much larger scale by Casting Director’s conducting their own searches and increases the opportunities you may be matched to.
