2018 on a Role!

Well 2018 is Call Back Casting Agency’s first New Year and what a year it is shaping up to be.

We are thrilled to announce that Dylan Smith has secured a main role in Derby Theatre’s Production of, ‘Two’. The play is written by the hugely talented Jim Cartwright who has written extensively for stage, television and radio. The play is a real slice of Northern working class life and centres around a pub in the 1980’s.

The landlord, landlady and there locals gather to form the focus of the play which presents a rich tapestry of life with all its ups, downs and in-betweens. It provides a rollercoaster of real emotion for the audience.

Dylan auditioned for his part as the son of one of the lead characters and fought off stiff competition to secure the role. The role will be played by 3 boys across the run of the play.

If you wish to see Dylan in action he will be performing on the following dates at Derby Theatre: March 3rd , 9th , 14th , 20th , 22nd and 24th for 7.30pm performances, March 7th and 17th for 2.30pm performances and on March 13th for a 10.30am performance. We are very proud of how Dylan handled the audition process, his wonderful acting skills and of course his motivation to do so well. Well done Dylan!

What’s Next . . . . . . Well this is a bit of a teaser! We have 4 very talented students who will be auditioning for a National Musical in May! We can’t say any more than that at the moment but this audition is huge news! Watch this space and all will be revealed.

I was interviewed by All Things Local in February to discuss the Agency and am delighted to tell you that there will be a full feature in their May edition featuring action shots of our wonderful students. Don’t miss your copy and please spread the word so we can have it read by everyone far and wide.

Finally I have been working hard to forge some new working relationships to further the opportunities available to the agency. We are working with Derby University Media Department and will have further news on this soon.

We also have a casting for a Midlands based TV series on the horizon as well as a feature film casting booked for later in the year.

So things are progressing nicely here at Call Back and we envisage a very exciting and successful 2018. We are always interested in speaking to new talent and new clients so please inform anyone to whom this may be of interest. Call Back is the place to be seen in 2018 – you mark my words!
